The Super
Skamper-Ramp was designed and developed for emergency water rescue
for most animals, pets, critters and reptiles of any type and size
that get stuck and struggle in the water.
The Super Skamper-Ramp has a blowmolded structure made
from white polyethylene that is heavy duty, light weight, durable
and versatile for strength, take abuse, visibility and last a long
time. This water ramp can be recycled if damaged or not usable,
it is chemical and UV resistant so it cannot get damaged from chemicals
and exposed to direct sunlight, and has three (3) attachment parts
include nylon rope, washers, and non-rusting D-ring-clips are used
to attach and secure ramp to any edge or deck near any body of
water for use. The ramp will not turn yellow, become scummy, grow
barnacles, or mildew when left in salt water, fresh water or pool
water for a long period of time.
There are two sets of holes in the ramp surface to thread the
rope through to have a snug fit against the pool wall (including
under a deep coping, such as with a steel sided vinyl wall.). There
is also a knot tied close to the ramp surface as possible to maintain
its orientation and not slip along the rope.
There is a ramp extension piece attaches to the bottom of the
ramp to extend out the ramp platform to a longer length. This rescue
ramp can be used with or without the ramp extension piece
attached.
The emergency water ramp can be used on and attach to floating
docks, all pool decks (commercial or private), water troughs or
stock tanks for horses, walled ponds/canals/bulkheads, reservoirs,
lakes, boats and many other areas near water. Ramp cannot be used
on inflatable pools.
The pet water ramp works by floating and hanging in the water
at an angle approximately 30-degrees below horizontal so the ramps
round nose is submerged a few inches under water.
This water escape ramp still works during winter, leaving it hanging
down inside a pool with the water partially drained, under a winter
cover, or on top of a non-permeable cover to prevent accidental
animal drowning by giving them an escape route.
Since animals can see the color white during the day and night
they can see the ramp, even if animals can't see the safety ramp
or use a step (ducklings, snakes, baby possums etc.), then they
can "skamper" out of the water onto the water ramp by
themselves.
In case of a thick coping and deep overhanging deck, make sure
to rethread the rope through the holes below the logo to pull
the ramp snugly under the overhang and close to the pool wall.
It is suggested to attach the water pet ramp to the pool deck
by bolting (if wood) or sinking an anchor (stone, poured, etc) to
hold the stainless steel D-ring-clips and rope in place. There
is a knot tied close to the ramps platform as possible to maintain
its orientation and not slip along the rope. The only additional
part you will need and buy separately is the 1/4" stainless
steel pan-head screw about 1.25" long and concrete anchor
required for your pool deck surface.
Some people choose to use existing railings, pool cover anchors,
or water leveler covers than drilling into their pool deck. Make
sure the rope tie-downs are not spread wider apart than the width
of the ramp for optimal performance.
Lead-plug or stainless steel anchors with non-rusting screws are
suggested for solid concrete decks; non-rusting bolts and
nuts with a lock washer are suggested for hollow decks. Customers
can check with their pool service company if they are unsure which
method to use.
Super Water Skamper-Ramp is also designed to keep animals claws
from slashing the plastic walls of vinyl lined pools as they attempt
to escape; however the Super Skamper-Ramp is probably the best
solution because of its smooth construction. Each corner radius
is designed to protect and not puncture the vinyl liner. To
minimize rub double the vinyl wall layer in the area where the
ramp will be installed.
To assemble the animal water ramp just snap all four (4) parts
together. No nuts and bolts needed for assembly.
Super Skamper-Ramp weighs 5.95 lbs (~ 2.7 kg) boxed, and 4.75 lbs (2.2
kg) assembled and dimensions are 42" x 13" x 5" (106
cm x 33 cm x 16 cm) assembled. |
